1980s Black & White Polka Dot Strapless Mermaid Gown

This late-1980s Victor Costa strapless mermaid gown is a lined black and white polka dot 52% nylon/48% polyester taffeta. Victor Costa was known as the "King of Copycats", and this particular piece was inspired by a 1988 F/W Oscar de la Renta gown that is part of The Met's permanent collection. The Costa version was originally purchased at Holt Renfrew. It has a built-in crinoline at the back of the skirt, a boned bodice, and a zipper up the left side. There is some wear to a polka dot under the right armpit but it's otherwise in excellent condition, clean and ready to wear.
