Yves Saint Laurent
1980s NWT Reissue of the Iconic 1968 Safari Lace-Up Tunic
Sold Out
This 1980s Yves Saint Laurent "Variation" safari tunic is a reissue of the exact design that Veruschka wore in the iconic photo by Franco Rubartelli for the July/August 1968 issue of French Vogue. It is brand new, with its original tags still attached. Made in France from beige pure cotton, it slips over the wearer's head and fastens with a lace-up front and a snap on each cuff. It has four front pockets that snap shut, two inverted pleats on the back and 4.75" slits on the side. A fun detail: ventilation holes in the armpits! There is some very minor discoloration along the side slits from storage (please see the last photo.) Otherwise, this tunic is in excellent condition, having never been worn.
