1980s Ballerina Black Tulle & Velvet Strapless Evening Dress

This 1980s black evening dress is missing its label but it was purchased from the original owner who said that it's Yves Saint Laurent. This claim is bolstered by a few factors: It's very similar in style to designs seen on Saint Laurent's Fall 1982/1983 runway. It still has its "Chez Catherine" boutique label attached, and there's a hand-written label on the inside of the skirt that says "Ballerine" with the style number. It also has the hand-written content label. 

The strapless bodice is made from rayon velvet, and the drop-waist skirt is comprised of three layers of tulle plus a lining. The top layer of tulle has black velvet polka-dots on it. It zips up the back. Made in France, it’s in excellent condition, clean and ready to wear.
