1976 F/W Documented Russian Collection Dark Purple Velvet Tunic

This Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche long velvet tunic is from the highly sought after 1976 F/W "Operas - Ballets Russes" collection. It was made in France of a dark purple cotton velvet, trimmed in a gold lurex made from real metal and lined in purple satin. It has a 17” slit and pocket on each side, and does up the front with 7 gold buttons. It was featured in L’Officiel magazine. It comes with a silk green & purple belt, which is not signed “Saint Laurent,” so we are unable to say for certain that it is original to the piece. There is a one small nick on the gold trim by the neck (see last photo), but otherwise it is in excellent condition. It has been professionally dry-cleaned and is ready to wear.
