This iconic Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche safari jacket dates to 1969-1970. It was featured in Elle France in 1970 and the tie-dyed version is held in the The Metropolitan Museum of Art's permanent collection.
It was made in France from an unlined white cotton, and does up the front with seven buttons, with two additional buttons on each cuff. It features a pointed collar, four front pockets, and a 15" vent up the back. It is missing its original belt and has a couple of small light yellow marks in the lining (see the last two photos). Overall, it's in very good condition, clean and ready to wear.
