Tan Giudicelli
1970s Hand-Painted Animals Silk & Wool Knit Three-Piece Set
$1,200.00
This 1970s Tan Giudicelli three-piece set was made in France of silk and a wool knit (possible an angora or mohair blend) that has hand-painted animals, fruit and fauna throughout. It consists of a blouse, skirt, and vest. The hand-written label has '75' on it, so it's likely from the year 1975. Giudicelli's work is very rare overall, but pieces from this era are extra sought-after.
The pullover silk blouse has balloon sleeves with knit cuffs. It mostly has woodland creatures painted on it, including squirrels and badgers. It fastens with a button at the back of the neck and three buttons on each cuff. The wool knit vest has a scalloped silk trim with no fasteners. The animals painted on it are more varied, including koalas, tigers, deer and others. The knit skirt is lined, with an elastic waist. There are some yellow stains on the right sleeve but the set is otherwise in very good condition.
