$175.00
This 1980s evening dress is by Sister Max. Sister Max was founded by a former American teacher who went to Nepal and became an ordained Tibetan Buddhist nun before starting the multi-million dollar fashion business, which operated out of New Delhi. The company was listed as being one of Saks Fifth Avenue's best sellers in a 1983 New York Times article titled "A Glittering Success." This dress was made in India from black sequins with a gold beaded "tuxedo" trompe l'oeil print on the front. It has a silk chiffon lining, a 10" slit up the back hem, and a YKK zipper up the back. It's in excellent condition and ready to wear.
