Pierre Cardin

1960s "Jeunesse" Mod Green Wool Crepe Dress

Sold Out

This Pierre Cardin shift dress from his “Jeunesse label” dates circa 1965. It’s a great early example of Cardin’s minimalist mod designs, with a cowl neck, two gold metal buttons on each cuff and one on the back of the neck, and two faux pockets on the front. It was made in France of a light earthy green wool crepe, with the body lined and arms unlined. It does up the back with a metal zipper. The original buttons have been replaced, and the original hem was brought up by around 1”, though the fabric was not cut and could therefore easily be let down again. There has been some incredibly slight fading down each side of the arms from improper storage by the previous owner. The dress still presents beautifully, with none of the flaws being noticeable during wear, though we have factored them into the price. It has been professionally dry-cleaned and is ready to wear.
