Paco Rabanne (Attributed)
1970s Black & Gold Chainmail Evening Dress
Sold Out
This 1970s chainmail evening dress is unsigned but the same design has been attributed to Paco Rabanne by prestigious auction houses. It's made from black quatrefoil plastic discs that are attached by gold aluminum rings, with gold-tone discs around the neckline, and 18" chains hanging from the hem with gold-tone discs attached. It slips over the wearer's head and is surprisingly lightweight.
It is in overall very good condition for such an intricate piece, with only a few imperfections: two chains on the hem at the back are missing, a few of the gold aluminum rings have been replaced by slightly smaller rings (we'll include extras with the dress), and a couple of the quatrefoil discs have been slightly bent. All of these flaws are very discreet and especially subtle during wear.
