Oscar de la Renta
1979 Documented Black Silk Organza Ruffle Cocktail Dress
This incredibly chic cocktail dress is from Oscar de la Renta's 1979 RTW collection. A version of the dress was featured in Vogue that same year. It was union-made in the U.S.A. from black silk organza with a built-in tulle crinoline, which helps it keep its shape. There is a large bow on the left shoulder. and it does up the side with a Talon zipper.
There are a few small nicks in the silk organza on the right side of the bust and some of the black has faded around the edges (see the last two photos.) These imperfections have been factored into the price. It has been professionally dry-cleaned and is now ready to wear.
