Moschino
1990s Olive Oyl Silhouette Cream Wool Skirt Suit
Sold Out
This early-1990s Moschino "Cheap and Chic" skirt suit features a whimsical print of Olive Oyl's silhouette. Popeye's gangly girlfriend was an ongoing muse for the fashion house, starring on many a silk scarf and even embodied by Pat Cleveland on the runway. (See the last photo for an illustration from the 1991 ad campaign.)
This set was made in Italy of a fully-lined cream wool crepe with red decorative buttons as balls. The bolero jacket has no closures. The high-waisted mini pencil skirt fastens with an Opti zipper on the left side and a button on the waistband. The jacket is missing one ball on the back of the left cuff, but this is very discreet. Otherwise, it's in excellent condition, has been professionally dry-cleaned and is ready to wear.
