Sold Out
This 1940s hat is by Lola Lanyi, a Czech designer that studied millinery in Paris during the early 1930s and moved to Canada at the beginning of WWII. We found a 1946 Maclean's article that states that at the time her hats cost $60 CAD (approx. $850 CAD today.) It's made from natural straw with a black velvet trim, which has a bow that is sewn to the left underside of the brim. The hat sits on top of the wearer's head. It measures 20" in circumference, and the brim is 3" in the front and 1" in the back. It's in very good condition.
