Lilli Ann
1951 Ad Campaign Navy Wool Gabardine Tailored Jacket
Sold Out
This 1951 Lilli Ann of San Francisco tailored jacket is a well-documented piece of fashion history. It was photographed by Horst for that year's ad campaign, and part of a series of Lilli Ann suits awarded the Fashion Academy Gold Medal for 1951.
It was made of a navy blue gabardine wool with a rayon crepe lining. Ruching down the sides of the bodice creates a flattering silhouette. The jacket features built-in shoulder pads and two large decorative flaps on the front with a woven trim that matches the collar. It does up the front with small fabric-covered buttons. Though it is missing the top three buttons, it is otherwise in excellent condition, appearing to have had very little wear. It has been professionally dry-cleaned and is ready to wear.
