A very large embroidered black silk 1920’s/1930's piano shawl. Also known as a Spanish Manton de Manila, piano shawls were popularly used for many purposes, from flamenco dancing to a bed spread or couch throw, or simply as a dramatic shawl to be added to various outfits. This piece is embroidered with flowers and vines of varied sizes and muted colours, from soft red to pinks, oranges, greens, purples and blues. The edges feature six inches of black macrame ending with long, signature 1920’s style fringe. A square design with curved corners. This is a high quality estate find.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. There is some slight tangling to the fringe.
