This 1960s couture coat is by Canadian couturier John Albert Kelly. Kelly studied design in Europe before returning to Quebec City to open his own salon. He was known for dressing political wives and high society. He was mysteriously murdered in 1971.
This piece is made from a heavy weight wool crepe in cream, pink, and purple plaid. It does up the front with three buttons and has one front pocket. It is in excellent condition, has been professionally dry-cleaned and is ready to wear.
