1980s Beaded Navy Silk Chiffon Evening Dress

This 1980s Jean-Louis Scherrer evening dress was numbered 384626 and sold at high-end Montreal boutique Lily Simon. It was made in France of a navy blue silk chiffon, with the body fully lined in silk. It features billowing balloon sleeves, beading and sequin embellishments on the shoulders, collar and cuffs, a ruched waist and pleated skirt. It does up with 7 buttons on the bodice and two on each cuff, which are made of round blue plastic with rhinestone insets. It has a blouson-style top with an inner waist stay, and a metal zipper on the left hip to ensure a snug fit to the wearer’s body. It is in excellent condition, professionally dry-cleaned and ready to wear.
