Jean-Charles de Castelbajac
1980 F/W Runway Documented 3D Seagull Reversible Wool Coat
Sold Out
This Jean-Charles de Castelbajac reversible coat is from his 1980 F/W collection and was featured on that seasons runway. It was also worn by Diane Benson in the iconic photo taken by Robert Mapplethorpe. It's made from pure wool and has an all-over seagull print, with whimsical 3D seagulls protruding from the shoulders. It is meant to be worn oversized and does up with one button on the left shoulder. The label is no longer attached but there is no doubt of its authenticity, due to its great provenance. This coat has had a lot of love, and we believe that the wool is not as textured as it once was (please zoom in on the photos). There is also a small chip on the inside button. It still has a lot of life left in it and is fabulous as-is. It has been professionally dry-cleaned and is ready to wear.
