Janice Wainwright
1970s Peacock Silk Applique Black Wool Crepe Jacket
Sold Out
This 1970s Janice Wainwright jacket was made in England of lined black wool crepe with a large silk appliqué peacock on the back. It has wide sleeves, a pocket on each side, and a green rope trim. It fastens with one hook-and-eye near the waist, and comes with the original tie belt that's embroidered with peacock feather tips.
Overall, the jacket is in very good condition, with some minor issues to note. It is missing the designer label but is a known Wainwright piece. The wool has been repaired in one spot under the lapel, which isn't visible while being worn. There is a little bit of wear to the embroidery on the back of the belt. It remains a very special and wearable piece. It has been professionally dry-cleaned and is ready to wear.
