Jacqueline Familiant
1960s Space Age Silver Zip-Up Jumpsuit
$300.00
This 1960s Jacqueline Familiant long-sleeve jumpsuit was union-made in Canada of an unlined semi-sheer silver metallic knit with black satin collar and breast pockets. Jacqueline Familiant was a French designer who moved to Montréal in the mid-1960s and opened a boutique in Old Montréal. She quickly gained a (mostly youthful) following for her “kicky” styles, bringing the mini skirts, babydoll dresses, and Pop Art motifs that were sweeping European fashion to Canada - and eventually New York, as retailers including Bergdorf Goodman and Bloomingdale’s began to carry her designs. (Read more about her interesting backstory here!) This jumpsuit zips up the front. There is some light general wear to the fabric and a few repairs made throughout the knit. It's otherwise in very good condition, clean and ready to wear.
