This Christian Lacroix jacket is from the French designer’s ready-to-wear line “Bazar.” It dates to the early 2000s, when Lacroix’s runway shows had a clear Victorian influence, and this particular piece is in the style of a Victorian mourning jacket. It’s made in France of a textured silk and cotton blend, embellished with cotton velvet trim, lace, ruffles, and sequins. It does up with 5 black plastic buttons, meant to resemble the jet beaded buttons popular in the Victorian era, with 3 faux buttons on the bottom. The leg-o’-mutton sleeves also have 4 buttons on each cuff. It is lined in rayon. Made in France, it’s in excellent condition, professionally dry-cleaned, and ready to wear.
