1983 S/S Embellished Woven Silk Evening Gown

This 1983 S/S Christian Dior Boutique by Marc Bohan evening gown was made in France of purple, green and fuchsia woven silk. The bodice is lined in purple silk and the full skirt is comprised of two layers of woven silk. The top has spaghetti straps, beading and sequin embellishments. It fastens with a zipper up the back.
The dress presents beautifully but there are some flaws to note. When we first acquired it, there were panels at the back the previous owner had added to make it larger, which we have had our seamstress remove. They also had the sides taken in, which means that there is approximately 2.5" of fabric that can be let out at the bust. The measurements don't correspond with a standard size because of this, and it's likely that the next owner will need to have it tailored. There are a few areas that are missing some sequins and beading, but they are very discreet and have been reinforced. There's also some minor discoloration on the lining of the bodice. We have drastically reduced the price to reflect these imperfections. The gown has been professionally dry-cleaned and is ready to wear.
