Cesare Piccini was an Italian designer, who in the 1970's was known for his luxurious velvet handbags. They were in the same style as Roberta di Camerino, who would have been considered his contemporary.
This bag is made from black velvet and has an auburn stripe on the front. Trimmed in genuine black leather, it measures 13.5" x 10.5". Its leather handles are attached by four large mod silver grommets. There are two main compartments. The front compartment snaps closed and has two smaller compartments within, as well as a hidden pocket. Made in Italy, it is in excellent condition, showing very little wear.
