This 1980s trench coat is by Anne-Marie Beretta, a French designer known as a “fashion architect.” Most of her designs were fairly minimalist at first glance, but with unique features upon further inspection. In this case, the pleating detail near the shoulder seam give the shoulders added volume, and there is a deep pocket on each side. It is made from a soft navy/black 70% cotton/30% viscose blend, with lining only around the collar bone. It does up with her signature pearlized snaps, and includes the original tie belt. It is in excellent condition, professionally dry-cleaned and ready to wear.
