1990s Black Silk Chiffon Faux Wrap Dress

An Ungaro black silk/viscose chiffon dress from the Solo Donna ready-to-wear line, dating from the early 1990’s. This piece is long sleeved and hits just below the knee, with a deep v faux wrap neckline. The fabric of the neckline is generously ruched on one side at the underbust, where it meets the waist seam. The seam is higher on that side and extends diagonally downward to hug the hip on the other side, making this an ideal piece to emphasize one’s curves. The body is made with two layers of chiffon, the skirt slightly tiered, with just a few inches difference at the bottom. The sleeves are left translucent with one layer of chiffon. This piece encloses with a side zipper at the waist/hip, and two short zippers at the ends of the sleeves.
