Jean-Charles de Castelbajac
1980's Hooded Blue Plaid Wool Fringe Blanket Coat
A bold 1980’s blanket-esque 100% wool coat from Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, a designer well reputed to have captured the spirit of the 1980’s avant garde. The wool is woven into a very large plaid pattern in highly pigmented blues and greens. It does up the front in a wrap style with one inner and one outer snap with blue leather detailing. The hood is designed with three snaps along the edge, which can be left open to drape on the back or done up into a pointed hood, with blue leather straps coming from the inside of the hood to snap on the outside, slightly gathering the fabric of the hood. With wide sleeves and lapels, true to 1980’s form, and two deep pockets. This piece is unlined, and comes with a large novelty safety pin that can be attached as desired. An estate find.
This coat also comes with it's original matching belt that was not photographed.
