1970s Pastel Indian Tissue Silk Dress
A shining example of the Eastern influence on 1970’s design; Treacy Lowe was a sought after English designer utilizing delicate tissue silks from India in her high-end boho creations. This dress is made of this Indian tissue silk, printed with a distinctive turquoise/lavender/muted orange pattern. The body is fully lined with silk, leaving the full sleeves sheer and airy; the matching sash belt finishes off the whimsical picture.
These dresses cost from $120-300+ in the 70’s (that’s $575 - $1,450+ in US inflation).
