1970s Billowing Indian Cotton Gauze Two-Piece Set
Sold Out
This 1970s 100% cotton gauze Indian blouse and skirt set is by Sarah Clothes. Sarah Pouliot founded Sarah Clothes in Ottawa in 1967. Inspired by a 1975 trip, she began sourcing fabrics from India, which were all made with natural dyes and patterns from hand-cut wooden blocks. This particular set is a semi-sheer hand-blocked burgundy with a beige floral pattern. The blouse has a drawstring neck, and huge, billowing sleeves with gathered cuffs. The tiered midi skirt is high-waisted, doing up on the left side with hook-and-eyes. These hook-and-eyes have been resewn, and the set is in very good condition. It is made in India, clean, and ready to wear.
