This 1950s Edward Abbott cocktail dress is black silk taffeta with a dramatic lace and tulle bustle. It has a wide neckline with scalloped lace trim, a bow on each shoulder, and ruching at the hips that create an hourglass silhouette. The dress fastens at the back with a metal Talon zipper and a bow that hooks into place.
Overall it's in very good condition for its age and presents beautifully but there are a couple small flaws to note. There are a few small shatters in the silk under the right armpit; this is very discreet while being worn, and it appears to remain structurally sound. Additionally, the side seams have been let out. The price has been adjusted to reflect these imperfections. It has been professionally dry-cleaned and is ready to wear.
