Christian Dior Haute Couture
1970s Cream Wool Knee Length Skirt
This hand-sewn skirt is a piece of Christian Dior true haute couture from the 1970s. Though the skirt is missing its Christian Dior tag, it does have its number and hand-written fabric content tag, and is guaranteed to be authentic Christian Dior. It was purchased in a lot with a number of other Dior couture items from the 1970s, and the previous owner had mistakenly sold the matching jacket separately. The other Dior couture skirts that were acquired with jackets also only had the Dior label in the jacket. This piece is numbered “08425..J..6..” Doing up the back with a metal zipper, it’s made from finely weaved cream wool with light cream pinstripes through, and is lined in silk. It falls just below the knee, with an inverted pleat on the front and pockets on each side; there are belt loops but no belt. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition, freshly dry-cleaned, and is ready to wear - a rare opportunity to own a true piece of couture at an affordable price!
