1960s Beaded Black Velvet Cocktail Dress
A black velvet 1960’s mini dress, sleeveless with a deep v neckline. The velvet fabric is textured with a wispy swirl-type pattern which catches light nicely. The neck is amply embellished with woven metallic ribbon and black reflective beads. The neck is higher at the back, and comes downward in a v at the front, pointing to a black velvet bow at the underbust. Under the bow at the front is a generous pleat that gives the skirt more room for movement. The torso is snug to the body, while the skirt flares out in an a line design. Though this dress is dated from the late 1960’s, the quality and design make it a timeless choice; it appears as though it could be from almost any era since the 1960’s.
