This 1983 F/W Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche blouse and skirt set was made in France. The long-sleeve blouse is brown, navy, and black striped unlined wool challis with a pointed collar and two breast pockets. It fastens in the front with six shell buttons, and has an additional button on each cuff. The high-waisted skirt is lined navy cotton velvet that's fitted around the hips, with the bottom of the skirt flaring out in unlined wool challis that matches the top. It fastens at the left side with a metal zipper and a hook-and-eye and the waistband.
The skirt is in excellent condition but the top does have a few flaws: there are two holes on the back and one on the back of the arm that have been patched, some of the shell buttons are chipped (including the extra button included), and the top and bottom button have been replaced with similar looking plastic buttons. The set remains very wearable, whether together or as separates.
