Courrèges

1973 Documented Couture Future Trench Coat

Sold Out

This documented (1973) Courrèges “Future Couture” coat appears to be a lightweight trench coat, however it is actually thicker and therefore heavier than it appears. The well-structured fabric keeps the bottom flaring slightly out from the waist belt, as we can see in the picture. The pockets have both diagonal openings to rest one’s hands in and thick zippers to open them further if desired. The gun flaps, epaulettes, double-breasted enclosure and cuffs are all held in place with brown leather buttons.

A translation from some of the text in the photo:

“[Courrèges] loves to make us laugh and smile. But above all, he knows like no one else how to construct simple coats, astute/artful jackets, stretchy pants. This season, the most beautiful of these were the beige designs.”

Also, according to this documentation, this jacket is waterproof.
