1972 S/S Navy Wool Sailor Collar Jacket

This 1972 S/S Givenchy Haute Couture jacket was made in France of unlined navy wool. It has a hand-written "8122" numbered couture tag under the label. The longer version walked that season's runway. It has a sailor collar, two 8" slits up the back, two front pockets, and a button at each cuff.
The jacket was originally double-breasted but the original owner moved the buttons over to fit a larger size. You can see on the front of the wool where the buttons were initially placed; we're not sure if the current buttons are the original ones. Additionally, the seam at the back of the collar is splitting. We have decided to sell the jacket "as found", and reduced the price drastically to reflect these imperfections. It has been professionally dry-cleaned.
