Christian Dior
1972-73 F/W Demi-Couture Red & Black Silk Satin Pierrot Evening Set
$675.00
This 1972-73 F/W Christian Dior Boutique by Marc Bohan demi-couture evening set was made in France. Both pieces are numbered "1638/002". Donna Jordan was photographed by Helmut Newton wearing the same one in the August 1972 issue of Vogue US. It was also featured that year in Jours de France.
The long sleeve top is unlined red silk satin with black silk organdy ruffle cuffs and pierrot collar. It has a matching rope belt that's sewn on at the back of the waist, and a metal Eclair zipper fastening the back. The high-waisted full-length skirt is silk-lined black silk satin that fastens at the back with a metal Eclair zipper and hook-and-eye at the waistband.
The skirt is in very good condition but the top is being sold as-is. The top two layers of the silk organdy collar have shattered and will likely continue to shatter further. The cuffs remain intact. There are also a few nicks and snags throughout the red silk satin. The price has been drastically reduced due to these flaws. It has been professionally dry-cleaned.
